Meet the friendly staff at The Eye Center of Okmulgee
Connie Miller, CPOA
Connie has served as our Optical Manager since 1991. She is often requested by name or stopped in the local grocery store for an adjustment of glasses. Connie knows you by name and will always make sure that your glasses are stylish and comfortable. Her expertise has been utilized in training other Paraoptometrics at the state level. She is the steady and dedicated role model for all of the staff of The Eye Center.
Connie obtained her certification as a Paraoptometric Assistant in 2001. She received Paraoptometric of the Year in 2001. Connie served on the Oklahoma Paraoptometric Section of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians from 1997 to 2002 as Member at Large, President and Past President.
With well over 800 hours of continuing education in the field of Paraoptometry, Connie is well equipped to provide excellent optical care. She has been a member of the Oklahoma Paraoptometric Section of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians since 1991.
Tonya Norris, CPOA
Tonya has over 11 years of Paraoptometric assistance experience. She serves as our contact lens specialist as well as a scribe to our doctors and lead technician helping to train and mentor new technicians. Most of our contact lens patients know her by name and if there is a issue with your order she is the person to resolve that issue.
In addition to her primary duties as Contact Lens Technician and Scribe, Tonya is proficient in all areas of the practice. Her abilities and experience allow her to assist when one of the team is out. Tonya also assists June with insurance filing and posting of payments. Tonya earned her certification as Paraoptometric Assistant in 2007. She is currently working toward her CPOT certification which is the highest level of certification a Paraoptometric can earn.
She has obtained over 120 hours of continuing education in all aspects of Paraoptometry. She has been a member of the Oklahoma Paraoptometric Section of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians since 2005. She also served on the OPS board as Member-at-Large.
Melody is our Optical Stylist. She has been the assistant to Connie since 2012. She will be the one to make sure your new glasses are stylish and you can see well. She has over 40 hours of continuing education in the field of Paraoptometry and is currently studying for her CPO certification exams.
Melody is cross-trained to provide assistance to the doctors by providing contact lens insertion and removal training and visual field testing as well as scheduling appointments and answering the phones. She too has been a member and served on the Board of the Oklahoma Paraoptometric Section of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians since 2012.
Cathy is the person who calls to remind you of your appointment. She also makes sure that you receive a reminder postcard. But most important she insures that your fees are accurate and billed to insurance appropriately. She is one of the smiling faces you see when you walk in the door and usually the last smiling face you see as you leave. Cathy assists June with billing insurance and posting payments. She schedules appointments and makes sure that the doctor’s schedule is utilized to the benefit of all his patients.
Cathy has been a part of The Eye Center team since 2013. She has 30 hours of continuing education and has been a member of the Oklahoma Paraoptometric Section of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians since 2013.
Our newest team member Kenzie has been a fast learner. She is one of our doctor’s assistants and insures that all the preliminary testing data the doctors need are completed in an accurate and efficient manner. Kenzie has learned so much since she began with The Eye Center in June of 2015. After only a year she is in charge of preparing the electronic health records as well as cleaning and disinfecting all equipment and exam rooms. Kenzie is also proficient in visual fields testing and training our patients in the insertion and removal of contact lens.
Kenzie has, in only a year been able to achieve over 20 hours of continuing education in the field of Paraoptometry. She has been a member of the Oklahoma Paraoptometric Section of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians since 2015.
Christin is our newest member of The Eye Center family. She began her career here in the winter of 2017. During that time she has become the smiling face that greets you when you arrive.
She will work hard to get your Insurance information organized in a way that gets you the best coverage for your services. Christin is a proud Okmulgee High School graduate. A native to Okmulgee she knows many of our patients as part of her family and community. She has many college credit hours that has helped her become a fast learner with a sincere desire to be the best at her job.
