Meet the friendly staff at The Eye Center of South Tulsa

  • Kari Tunley, CPOA
    Office Administrator

    Kari has been with The Eye Center since 2003. She started in our Okmulgee office as the doctor's lead technician.  She has served as the clinic administrator in our South Tulsa location since 2007. She is trained in all areas of the practice and is often seen assisting the doctors with patients. She trains all new technicians for the practice and files and audits all insurance claims for both offices. Kari is an amazing leader and provides a respectful environment for our staff members.

    Kari attended Oklahoma Institute of Technology from 1997 to 1999. She obtained her Associates degree as an Administrative Assistant. She earned her certification as Paraoptometric in 2003 and then earned her certification as Paraoptometric Assistant in 2004. Kari has over 150 hours of continuing education in the field of Paraoptometry.

    Kari has served on the board and has been a member of the Oklahoma Paraoptometric Section of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians since 2003.

  • Kayla Butler, CPOA
    Optical Manager, Optician

    Kayla has been with the practice since April 2015. She serves as our optical manager. She provides assistance with frame selections, repairs, and proper lens alignments. She makes sure patient's feel comfortable and satisfied during the frame selection process. Kayla also handles all billing and insurance associated with our optical labs. Kayla is trained in all areas of the practice and can assist anywhere when needed.

    Kayla obtained her certification as Paraoptometric in 2014. She has been a member of the Oklahoma Paraoptometric Section of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians since 2013.

  • Alyssa Whitt, CPOA
    Medical Scribe, Doctor's Assistant

    Alyssa has been a part of The Eye Center, South Tulsa family since January 2017. She started out as the friendly smiling face at our front desk. She quickly excelled and is now a scribe for the doctors and provides the preliminary testing that is needed to give our patients a thorough eye exam. She makes sure that every patient feels cared for. Alyssa pays very close attention to detail and makes sure that everything is done correctly. In the years she has been with us, she is in charge of our electronic health records as well as the cleaning and disinfecting the exam rooms and equipment. She is also proficient in the training of our patients in the insertion and removal of contact lenses.

    Alyssa obtained her Paraoptometric certification in November 2017. She has been a member of the Oklahoma Paraoptometric Section of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians since 2017.

  • David Queen, CPOA
    Paraoptometric Technician

    David has been a part of The Eye Center, South Tulsa family since May 2017. He is the friendly, caring, smiling face that greets our patients when they go back to have their exams. He provides all of the preliminary testing that the doctors need to provide a complete and thorough exam for our patients. David makes sure that all of the exam rooms are stocked with all of the supplies and equipment that the doctors need for our patients. He is proficient in visual fields testing and always willing to help another staff member or patient with anything they need. David obtained his Paraoptometric certification in November 2017 after only 6 months of being in this profession. He has been a member of the Oklahoma Paraoptometric Section of the Oklahoma Association of Optometry since 2017.
